Senior Assistant Director
Born in Dallas, Texas, but raised in Jacksonville, Florida (Go Jags!), I moved to D.C. six years ago with aspirations of bringing the better qualities of the south to the nation's capital, with the goal of completing my doctorate degree. Although I moved with the objective to pursue a doctorate degree, I have fallen for the charm of Washington, D.C., and plan to permanently lay roots within the district.
My passion for higher education manifested through my undergrad experience as I transferred between schools in exploration of the “Michael/Mike” I ultimately became. Having been cultivated through the social exposure of joining clubs on campus alongside playing football at two separate higher education institutions, I gravitated towards the operations of universities and found myself pursuing a master's in higher education administration immediately after I graduated with a B.A. in psychology (both from the University of North Florida).
As I continue to work toward completion of my doctorate degree at the George Washington University, I seek to bolster equity for prospective students in search of the institution that speaks to their ethos and academic desires. Serving the District as the Senior Assistant Director of Admissions, I hope to not only fulfill my duties to the university but also inspire the generations to follow by providing just and reliable leadership through the avenue of admissions at GW.
