As a 2013 graduate of Susquehanna University in Central Pennsylvania, my first move in starting my career was to serve through AmeriCorps with an anti-poverty agency and a high school, where I found my inspiration to work alongside students as they realize their dreams of higher education. After completing 3,400 hours of service in two years with AmeriCorps, I moved to Washington, D.C., to begin my admission career at The Catholic University of America, where I spent three years before joining the George Washington University's Office of Undergraduate Admissions in 2018.
So many people from all over the world have made their home in D.C., so GW students find parts of home tucked away in the nooks and crannies of the District. As a native Pennsylvanian, I was excited to see that Pitango, a gelato shop here in the city, used milk from Lancaster County (Pa.) cows. My challenge to you is to find your bit of home here, too, and maybe even a gelato shop that rivals mine!
