Congratulations on your admission to GW! This page outlines general information for admitted students, but for complete details and dates, please visit your student portal.

Portal

Your student portal is your go-to source until you arrive on campus. Besides hosting your admission letter (which you can and should print or save!), it has customized links for your declaration of intent, admitted student events, Orientation registration, and more!

Applicants to special interest programs will find those decisions under Special Programs.

Responding to Your Admission Offer

Respond to your offer of admission by submitting your declaration of intent. You’ll find the link under Next Steps in your student portal.

To accept your admission, you will also be required to pay your nonrefundable enrollment deposit by your enrollment deadline. Once your deposit has been processed, you will be an official part of the GW family and can prepare for your first day of class!

Admitted Student Events

For newly admitted first-year students, GW hosts admitted student events on campus each April. Exact dates will vary year to year and based on the school or college to which you were admitted. Find dates and registration links under Next Steps in your student portal.

When we’re able, we also host admitted student events around the country, virtually, and even on occasion, internationally. You may get an invitation via email or in your portal if we’ll be in your area this spring!

Orientation

After you deposit, you will officially be on your Journey to GW! Check your Next Steps for all the things you need to do throughout the spring and summer, including registering for Orientation. Our New Student Orientation team will also guide you along to your next stop throughout the summer, so keep an eye on your GW email for their Next Stop, GW newsletter. Before the semester starts, their program and its student leaders will help connect you to our community.
