Binding and Non-Binding Defined

 

A binding application means that, if admitted, you agree to attend GW, submit a non-refundable enrollment fee by your deposit deadline, and withdraw applications submitted to other colleges. Students should choose only ONE college/university to apply under a binding admission plan.

Non-binding applications allow students to choose from multiple college admission offers.

 

Which Applicant Type Are You?

Before you take the next step on your GW journey, it’s important to know which type of applicant you are:

  • First-Year Applicants are high school seniors or those who have never attended college since leaving high school or earning a GED, regardless of age.
  • Transfer Applicants are those who have completed at least one college course since high school graduation or completing your GED.
  • International Applicants, either first-year or transfers, are those who are not U.S. Citizens, dual U.S. Citizens, or U.S. permanent residents.
