Merit-Based Scholarships

All first-year, transfer, and international applicants are automatically considered for most merit-based scholarships as part of the admissions process. Only a few special scholarships require an additional application.

District Scholars 

The District Scholars program makes it possible for GW to meet full demonstrated need for qualifying students of D.C. high schools.

Need-Based Aid

GW's Office of Student Financial Assistance administers need-based aid to undergraduate students. Need-based assistance is only available to eligible U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
